AIMA & ACC Private Credit Investor Forum 2024

Published: 31 January 2024

Over 400 private credit specialists gathered the 29th January 2024 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach for our annual Private Credit Investor Forum.

We've distilled the day's conversations into three key takeaways:

  1. Prudence rather than exuberance driving the golden age: Investment and risk management practices continue to be a key driver of returns despite the fillip of higher rates. Manager/strategy selection remains a key question for LPs looking to scale their allocation to the asset class.
  2. If you like corporate lending, wait until you meet its friends: ABF, special sits, real estate debt and sports lending stood out as hot trends to look out for in 2024. With investors seeking assets to diversify their private credit exposure, expect these strategies to join corporate lending as a growth engine for the asset class.
  3. Private credit is the real sunshine state: The conference showcased the sheer volume of data, analysis and diligence that investors in private credit have access to. This is an essential reminder that the perceived 'opacity' of private credit is an idea that deserves much more scrutiny than it often receives.
