Making the jump to the next stage in a young individual’s career is undoubtedly a milestone achievement. In past installments of this series, we’ve had panelists share their experiences of moving into more senior roles through a combination of opportunity, skillset, and presence, while acknowledging the challenges they faced by a remote working environment.

This year, we are reversing the narrative and letting young professionals direct the conversation by sharing their perspectives on the mentoring process with two senior professionals. Through a back-n-forth discussion, we will hear young professionals speak about their needs, challenges, and suggestions and hear senior professionals respond from their experiences.

Key areas of focus may include:

  • Identifying opportunities and timelines.
  • What mentorship support involves beyond the office setting.
  • Considerations for accommodating a young professional’s set of needs.
  • Developing a path for career advancement.
  • Nurturing creative freedom through transparent communication.

We invite all professionals to join us for what promises to be an informative discussion.

Young Professionals:

  • Sandra L. Ramirez, Principal, Total Portfolio Management, OMERS
  • Helen Chau, Associate Vice President, Client Team at Waratah Capital Advisors Ltd.
  • Luke Hawthorn, Senior Associate, Business Development, Cortland Credit
  • Renn Nichols, Senior Client Onboarding Coordinator, SGGG Fund Services Inc.
