Review of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)

UK Virtual event

Please join AIMA and Travers Smith for a session on the European Commission’s review of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).

SFDR is a landmark piece of legislation and has been a key part of the European Union’s vision of protecting investors and encouraging more capital into sustainable projects. It has had a significant effect on the investment management community but some of elements of the regulation have proved to be ineffective and difficult to implement.

The European Commission’s SFDR review intends to correct some of SFDR’s deficiencies and in this session, we will cover the key proposals from the review, including:

  • Product categories: What are they, what is the eligibility criteria, and who may use them?
  • Article 8 and 9 disclosures: What happens to the disclosure regime?
  • PAIs: Have these changed, and if so, how?
  • Definition of “sustainable investment”: Different or the same?
  • Shorts and derivatives: Is the treatment of alternative strategies any simpler?

Speaker:

  • Phil Bartram, Partner, Travers Smith
