AIMA Hong Kong Fund Manager Briefing: Changes to the Cayman Islands Beneficial Ownership Regime
AIMA invites you to join our Fund Manager Briefing on 22 August, 2024.
On 31 July 2024, the Beneficial Ownership Transparency Act, 2023 of the Cayman Islands ("BOTA") came into force. The Cayman Islands' new beneficial ownership regime will be implemented in a phased approach over the course of the remainder of 2024 and requires that in-scope entities must comply with the new regime by 1 January 2025. Cayman Islands companies, LLCs and exempted limited partnerships, including those registered with CIMA as investment funds, will be affected by BOTA in different manners.
During this session, our expert speakers will dive into the key aspects of BOTA, elucidate the workings of the new rules, and shed light on the implications for your firm.
Speakers:
- Michael Bugel, Managing Director, Co-head of APAC, AIMA
- Andrew Wood, Partner, Maples Group, Hong Kong
- Aidan O'Regan, Associate, Maples Group, Hong Kong
- Rachel Soh, Associate, Maples Group, Hong Kong
This session is open to fund managers and allocators only.
