EU Commission outlines plans to review macroprudential rules
Published: 05 June 2023
On June 1, EU Commissioner McGuiness stated that the Commission will publish a review of the EU’s macroprudential framework including consideration of whether rules should cover non-banks by the end of the year. The review is likely to examine the effectiveness of the current framework for banks, the impact of recent market shocks, and evaluate whether a macroprudential framework may be needed for non-bank financial institutions.
