AIMA congratulates the new Chair of the SEC Paul Atkins
Published: 10 April 2025
AIMA will shortly send a letter to the SEC outlining a series of targeted recommendations aimed at fostering efficient, well-functioning capital markets while promoting responsible innovation.
The recommendations are structured around three core themes:
1. Supporting innovation and capital formation
2. Promoting sound practices and financial stability
3. Reducing regulatory burdens through harmonisation and structural reform.
These priorities are the product of a collaborative effort with AIMA’s US Regulatory Committee, reflecting broad input from its global membership of fund managers and institutional investors.
Commenting on SEC chair Atkins’ confirmation, AIMA CEO Jack Inglis said: “The confirmation of Paul Atkins to serve as SEC Chair, for whom we have a very high regard, presents a timely and important opportunity for renewed constructive engagement between the SEC and the alternative investment industry. We look forward to working with him and, to that end, will be shortly presenting our thoughts on how to improve the functioning of the US capital markets.”
