Wendy Chan

Wendy Chan is Director, Toronto Regional Office, Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Canada. She is responsible for collecting market intelligence for both monetary policy and financial system issues and bringing back insights to the Governing Council in Ottawa. Her team also provides secretariat support to industry committees set up by the Bank of Canada. Prior to her current role, she heads the Foreign Debt and Asset Policy team, which provides policy advice to the Government of Canada on the management of its foreign reserves. She was also a member of the Foreign Reserves Committee, which is a decision-making body responsible for policy matters affecting the management of Canada’s foreign reserves. In addition, Wendy was Head of the Debt Management team, which provides policy advice to the Government of the issuance of Government of Canada securities.
