Manager, Sustainable Investing, Total Fund Investment Strategy, Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo)

Viridiana is Manager, Sustainable Investing at Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo), where she focuses on advancing AIMCo's climate program. Over the years she has supported the development AIMCo's overall approach to sustainable investing, including proxy voting and stewardship activities, ESG integration and monitoring across asset classes, and processes, tool and policy development. 
 
During her years as a consultant, she supported financial sector clients in sustainability and ESG strategy development and the setting of science-based targets. She has experience on carbon accounting, scenario analysis, and identifying climate-related risks and opportunities for investment portfolios, as well as managing climate-related reporting for internal and external stakeholders for multi-asset class asset managers. 

Viridiana has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies, Environment and Business from the University of Waterloo, is a Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential Holder from SASB  (now part of IFRS Foundation), and holds the Sustainability and Climate Risk Certificate from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). She currently represents AIMCo in various industry working groups including PCAF's Transition and Green Finance Working Group and Investor Leadership Network's Climate Change Action Committee.
