Amar Sunar is a senior vice president of D. E. Shaw & Co. (London), LLP and a member of the D. E. Shaw group’s Private Credit investment unit. Prior to joining the firm in 2016, Mr. Sunar was a senior investment professional at Hoist Finance AB, where he operated from London and Stockholm and focused on the acquisition of loan portfolios and loan platforms in Europe. Before that, he worked on corporate debt restructurings in the global restructuring group of Royal Bank of Scotland PLC (“RBS”). Mr. Sunar began his career as a credit analyst in the markets and international banking division at RBS. He received his B.Sc. in economics, with honors, from University College London.
