Edward Smalley

Edward Smalley joined Chenavari in September 2014 as a Director in Risk and Quant, he became the Deputy Chief Risk Officer in December 2014 and was promoted to Chief Risk Officer in 2018. Prior to joining Chenavari, he gained over ten years' experience at blue chip leading and specialised funds. He has created businesses managing credit portfolios, developing systems, and working with research and marketing. He started his career at J.P. Morgan and was instrumental in the inception of iTraxx Indices, helping to create a top tier franchise for iTraxx Options, growing the business exponentially to 2008. He later joined Bluecrest as a Portfolio Manager focussed upon opportunities in credit convexity. He also re-launched the iTraxx Options business at Barclays. Edward holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham
