Aimie is ADS Group’s Chief Economist and has been at ADS for over six years. In a cross-sector role. Aimie’s work has a focus on providing evidence and addressing policy needs, as well as the cost of doing business, to ensure greater support for the UK’s industrial base. Aimie’s work more recently has centred on the Industrial Strategy and the growth driving sectors within ADS. Key themes of this work in the past twelve months have been defining defence, financing defence and the broader topic of ESG. Aimie has led on ADS activity around financing defence, including working closely with other key industry figures and groups to promote best practice guidance for businesses, and recommendations to both industry and Government on how to ensure that the defence and advanced manufacturing industries are financially supported through this era of growth. Prior to ADS, Aimie has a background working for trade bodies representing interests of both automotive and food and drink manufacturing sectors, providing a similar role in evidencing policy positions with economic analysis and supporting on customs and trade.
