AIMA Australia has the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the AIMA Australia ESG Super session, July 21^st at UBS Sydney.

With E…S…& G now permeating all our professional lives, this session will bring together, in conversation, allocators, managers, thought leaders, alongside purveyors of ESG services in Australia.

While the ESG debates and conversations to date have been dominated by topics such as “exclusions”, and “enhanced risk, return, and diversification benefits”, this session will go beyond these topics and tackle many of the qualitative and quantitative issues that have been ignited as investors increasingly focus on meaningful, real and impactful ESG goals and objectives.

Who should attend? All Fund Managers, Super fund investment staff, Family offices and institutional investors along with private banks and wealth managers that currently have allocations or are interested in delving into ESG.

3.15pm - Session 1: ESG Beyond Risk & Return

This panel will look at ESG beyond the usual question of does it boost returns and discuss the key issues that need to be dealt with under the banner of E, S, and G. The panel will consider these issues and discuss what else, such as ethical considerations, need to come in play when considering ESG and how these sometimes non-numeric considerations can be measured.

The march to net zero is well underway, but how do we identify and take advantage of the investment opportunities arising from this march? This panel will bring allocators and managers together into the conversation to discuss this burning issue.

4.45pm – Session 3: No More Self Reporting? The Present and Future of Regulation, Reporting and Due Diligence in an ESG World.

Many international jurisdictions have significantly advanced ESG regs and codified reporting. Globally many investors are stepping up ESG assessments and due diligence. So where does Australia sit on this path and where to from here? Is the ESG self reporting mechanism a relic already?
