US Investor Intentions H1 2022 - Private Credit

The Alternative Credit Council and With Intelligence have published the latest edition of the 'Investor Intentions' private credit series focusing on US investors. The report confirms that US allocators’ appetite for private credit remain healthy in the sector’s largest fundraising market as the asset class provides investors with a reliable source of returns and means to diversify their portfolios.

The findings in this report are based on the results of a survey of 224 US allocators. Key takeaways include:

  • Two-fifths of US allocators surveyed bsaid they were likely to increase their allocation to private credit in the next 12 months;
  • Interest is being driven by public pensions (57%) and family offices (50%);
  • 44% of family offices are interested in distressed debt; and
  • 2022 is set to be another active year of fundraising for private credit managers with many US investors are below target allocation for private credit.
